PETER WHITEMAN
(Designer) is also an illustrator, painter, mural painter, teacher and lecturer. He trained at Central School i theatre and designed and won an Arts Council Bursary to the Saflers Wells Theatre and another to the Bristol Old Vic. 

He has designed operas - The Italian Girl In Algiers and The Coronation of Poppea for the English National Opera and the Voice of Ariadne among others for the Aldeburgh Festival, plays - The Hostage and The Government Inspector for Bristol Old Vic, Peer Gynt for The Oxford Playhouse, Noah, Make Me A World and Follow That Star, (both showing this Christmas) for Chichester.

Peter has also designed for The Royal Court, Stratford East, and theatre in Cambridge and Scotland. He designed The Point last year for which he recieved the 1976 ABTT best stage design award. Peter has just completed two projects for the Tel Aviv Museum and is at present working on a long-term architectural project - a concrete mural.
